I am working on a KIP 3000, SN: 10511526 with controller IPS 7.3.92. Request is 6.5.109. Computers are running WIN 7 Pro. With request open, when I go to select a PDF file, I get an error "unrecognized file type". I have pushed the multiplatform file to the controller, KIPServeRB. I still get the unrecognized file format error. Any help on what the problem could be is greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Alan

To run Request on a Win 7 machine you have to run the program as an administrator

Like KipCody said, you'll have to reinstall the 6.5.109 as Admin. Also, once it's installed on your desktop, the very first time you launch the Request shortcut, you'll have to right-click and run as Admin also (just the very first time).

If you are still getting these errors, go to C: > Program Files(x86) > KIP. Then right-clickk on the Request folder, go to Security tab and give the user full control. In some instances, I've also had to create a new user named Everyone and give it Full Control.

But you should update Request to the latest version 7.3.106

I'm trying to think that far back, is that version of request able to have the mixed environment patch installed or does it require 6.5.485?

I think it was the other way around. If the controller was 6.5 then you needed the mix patch.

Yes, that is right, but what I'm asking is if the controller has anything below 6.5.485 that the patch does not work. It seems to me I've had to update some earlier versions of 6.5 to get request to work. It has been a long time and I may be remembering wrong.

Thanks for all of the replies. That had slipped mi aging mind. Just got the customer to open as admin today. That fixed the problem. Thanks again
