Hey everyone.
Been having an ongoing problem with one of my machines and it seems to be getting worse. I've added 2 images which shows the problem. Basically the top of a print coming off (this is the portion coming out first) then the Bottom. As you can see it starts off nice and solid but then half way through it becomes faded, any body run into this issue or have an idea what it might be? I've tried swapping the following parts:
Top corona, Drum, Dev tank, toner hopper, Bottom corona, LED Print head, checked dev bias pins, they seem fine. Lastly the fuser unit was swapped lately but was still having the issue before that.
thanks

When we get this problem, it's usually the toner supply roller (called Doner Roll in the 721) in the dev housing needs to be refreshed/cleaned. |

I agree. Either purchase a new dev unit or rebuild your. You will want to use Rubber roller Rejuvenater on the dev roller and the toner supply roller needs to be scrubbed down and vacuumed to open the pores. I use a tooth brush for that. _________________ "If you mess with a thing long enough, It'll break" |

It is a fresh dev unit, only a few weeks old. That's what I was also thinking it was, but put the refreshed unit in and it is still doing it. |

+3 on the toner supply roller. If cleaning/scrubbing doesn't help then replace it with a new one. |

Did you run 99 when you installed? _________________ "If you mess with a thing long enough, It'll break" |

If the top of those images are the Leading Edge and the bottom of those images are the Trailing Edge then it could be a defective Fuser Roller/Heat Tube and/or Pressure Roller.
I have seen a new fuser do this; so just because you have changed it doesn't mean it's not defective.
If it messes up the print in the same place every time you might be able to verify this by stopping the machine at the point where the anomaly would be on the page but not fused yet.
Then see if the print looks proper and solid. This is easier to do on a machine like the ips5000/6000. _________________ "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten." - Benjamin Franklin and John Ruskin |
