Working on a 5000 where the controller was recently swapped due to bad caps. The user is printing from bluebeam and if the driver is set to GL everything prints fine except the lines run through the circles when they shouldn't. Switch driver to kipscript and the lines stop when they hit the circle and then continue after it like they are supposed to. However now the screens/halftones are coming out much lighter, almost can't read, than when printed with the GL setting.

I've tried updating driver to the latest 8.13 but no change. The software on the controller is 7.2.348.

First of all GET RID OF BLUE BEAM!!! Worst PDF software EVER!!!!

On the GL side, you should see a setting in the printer driver for Lines Merge or Lines Overwrite...whichever one it is set to, change it and it should work.

Thanks jezebel09. If I could make them ditch blue beam I would in a heartbeat. This is not the first headache blue beam has caused me.

I will check that next time on site which hopefully will be today.

I could not find line merge in the driver anywhere. I did find line merge in the web tool but it made no difference turning it on or off.

Select "print as image" in Bluebeam.
This will fix the issue.

Thanks GR81. I had already tried that and it does work, it just takes considerably longer to process. With nothing else working however that may be my only alternative.

Upgrade the controller to 7.4.264 if they have color scanning, or 7.4.642 if they do not have color scanning.
Then update the Windows driver to the latest on the web.

Bluebeam is a great reader (especially for CAD files when they need to be marked up). The latest version of the writer is decent, but it would be far better to use AutoCAD 2016 and use the latest PDF Writers that are built into it. They do a much better job with just about everything.

No matter what, if a PDF is attached in CAD and you try sending a PDF to a KIP 8000 or older machine, you will get black splotches in place of the PDFs. The way we get around that is to convert these to TIF using KIP Print or KIP Request first and then send the TIFF files to the printer, I wonder if that might do the trick here.
