Hi all,

We are thinking about buying a second 9900 to replace our old 8000s.

The 9900 has been out for a few years now, and I was wondering if the 9900 will be around for awhile yet, or will it soon be replaced by a newer model?

Has anyone heard any rumors? Hate to buy a new machine that will soon be discontinued.

I'm curious as well since it's the only B&W KIP that has not had the "70" added to the name.

Give Brian Cook a call, or email, with that question.

I'm curious also.

Not sure what everyone else has been hearing but the rumor around here is that pagewide technology coming second half of 2015 from HP will be the nail in the LED coffin so to speak.

As much as the possibility of some awesome new technology, we all know not to jump right on it, as there are always a lot of bugs to be worked out, if they ever do get worked out. I'll be skeptical of the 9900 replacement, when it does come, until someone else has ran it with great success. Who want to be the guinea pig?

I didn't think you were old enough to remember that cinematic production.

They will probably just put a 12in monitor on it, change the LED head to higher DPI, and change the colors a bit and rename it the KIP 9970

Will it still have the improved developer assembly?

I was told by a Kip insider about 6 months ago that they will not replace the 9900. Kip has 2 new color systems they will be coming out with to go along with the C7800.
