Have a IPF755 that keeps dumping/replenishing the ink tanks into the maintenannce cartridge. Replaced the mainboard, carriage, purge unit and printhead.
I have followed the procedure for all items replaced including the new printhead procedure going into service mode to clear errors without printhead installed etc. Any would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Check for air in the ink tubes. If no air then replace the head management sensor. Also make sure they are using the correct magenta ink. The 755 takes a unique magenta ink for some dumbass reason. I've seen people snip out the plastic tabs to make a PFI-102M ink cartridge fit but the 755 requires PFI-104M. Are you getting any error codes? |

Yes the error on the control panel is E161-4050 but it not in the service manaual for some reason. And in service mode it just has a 038... to replace the ink cartridges nothing solid to go on.
Thanks!! |

Yeah there are only 2 E161 errors listed in the manual and both refer to the print head. So if you've already replaced the print head then I would consider the head management sensor, trailing cable, and/or carriage assy. |

What are the odd's? I hit that same error yesterday after replacing a main board on a 755. Called Canon and they said it is related to the head management sensor. Then he asked me to print a nozzle test and as soon as I tried loading paper I got a 03130031-2F14 which is error writing to ASIC, replace main board. New main board purchased from Canon last week and it's bad out of the box. I had a feeling something like that might happen as the new board had that burnt electronics smell to it when I opened it up. |
