Have a 3100 that has trailing edge deletions.. Sometimes it's .50", sometimes it's 2". Other times it doesn't delete at all. The deletion is not a "hard" cut off.. The image fades in and out all throughout the deletion. We swapped the transfer / sep harness to no avail.
I don't believe transfer timing should be an issue because of all the "good" prints we can produce intermittently.
The machine was moved recently, the new environment is an office environment.
Any ideas for what could be causing this phenomenon?

We havn't stopped a print to check for the image on the drum because it is difficult to time and you wouldn't know if that particular print was going to be a deletion or not? A thought I had was fuser speed might be too slow causing paper path issues??? This is happening on only 18" long prints which is the customer's preferred size.

Did you replace the wires AND springs? From what you describe sounds like a high voltage arc or the wires whipping around.

Following up with this, Per your recommendations we replaced PH6 & the star wheel assembly. Ran 125 sheets back to back and they all looked flawless. Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions.

Well I received an email last night from the customer, and it looks like the problem has come back. They said it was printing fine after we replaced the sensors & encoder till yesterday. This machine has been boggling my mind.
