I have a 3100 an hour away that is throwing E-004 codes. Went out last week, reset the error and all was well. I threw a meter on the power input and didn't see an issue but I didn't monitor it very long. I know there was a firmware update that addressed this issue, 10A, and I've applied that to one other 3100 doing the same thing and haven't had the error repeat. The only info on this forum and Kip's dealer forum regarding this is several years old. I'm just trolling to see if anyone has any recent experience with this before heading out Monday.

I've seen one time that the termistor was too much dirty...Had to replace the thermistor on another machine (you can check the temp of all thermistor, for me, one of those was 15degrees lower than the others) and another place, had this problem only in summer....to find out that the air conditionning on the wall was the problem...not for electical problem but just freeze the machine during the night and the fuser take too much time to warmed up!!

Yup, I would take at least one thermistor with you. If you still got that one 3000 with a bad scanner, you might want to take out the DC power supply (DCP1), the Relay (RY1), the Solid State Relay (SSR1) and the PW11620 and bring them with you. Especially, if they are an hour away. Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.....LOL.
