Have you seen the new KIP General Tech Bulletin "KIP End of Life Parts Statement". We better hang on to the old parts machines. |

Thanx for the heads up, I'd guess this means KIP will draw down the affected printers parts stock and not replace. _________________ Regards,

The end of life for parts I saw had old dates on it.
End of Parts
8000 - 11/2012
6000 - 10/2012
1880 - 7/2012
7000 PPEC - 12/2012
3000 S#1050xxxx 12/2012
Funny thing is I've not had any issues with ordering parts for the above machines, but back orders for the 7700, 7100, 7770 have been a constant pain in the ass. |

What I don't understand about these backorders is why it takes so long to get the parts from Japan. At the risk of sounding like a geezer(which I am) when I worked for Xerox if we needed a part, from Japan or any other parts center, we received the part within a day, two at most. I wonder if KIP techs have the same parts issues as the dealers. _________________ Regards,

Kip techs do have issue but not as much.
Parts probably come on a slow boat from China umm Japan.
My frustration is the back ordered parts seem to be the same ones time and time again and on new machines.
Any company that keeps a decent inventory of parts sees they are using part xxxx more often order more for stock. Not Kip.
Heat lamps for ex. In the 7770 have been off and on back order since the machines release. There is most likely an issue causing them to blow so early, but they are never is stock. |
