I just took over an existing print shop that has a kip 6000 with a scanner I think it was the 2150.

Toner is not fusing to prints. Previous owner said he had a tech out to inspect and said it would cost $3k to fix.

Is it work it or is it something I can fix (not a tech here) or is it something I should sell and put my money towards a newer used machine as well as sell the scanner.

My other shop has a 3100 and we love it. The new location is far enough it needs it own plotter.

Any thoughts.

Most often caused by lack of pressure from slicone bottom roller. What usually happens is. Bearing seized on shaft cutting it. You then need to replce it and bearings . Usually about $900-1, 000 including about 2 hours labor.
But top heated roller could be bad as well. Another $1250 if you buy a new one. They can be recoated which will save money.

Since the 6000 is a non supported model now, I wouldn't put that kind of money into it, you are taking a gamble on nothing else going wrong in a long period of time to recup that much money invested, and the next repair may be for something no longer available.

Is there any value in selling it as is?

I would think that may depend on one's geographical territory. If there are plenty other owners of that model out there that would want to jump on the opportunity to purchase it as a backup to their 6000 there may be some value in it. I would certainly give it a try.
