Customer called and said there is no display, cant log on etc. They said a message came up before it went dead, something like " No analog signal going to sleep"
Wanted to get some information before going out to service it.
Any help appreciated.
Thank You |

I would look at the IPS loosing power. Could be you'll be lucky and they lost power and it just didn't reboot. Could be the power supply went toast and took out the fuse, if that's the case you'll need a new power supply. If it's a white case IPS, God help you. There is plenty posted here about the white case IPS |

thanks arlen.
Customer unplugged the pwr cord and plugged back in after 10 mins. Didn't work.
Since unplugging didn't re-boot the IPS do I have to remove the rear cover and turn on IPS with switch there?
PS, it is the black IPS |

Remove the back cover and hit the power button on the IPS. Check bios under power options and make sure that it is set to power on after power loss |

Bring another IPS with you.
Could be power supply or motherboard.
Also get a surge protector on that machine if you have one. |

Another possibilities...
Check if the IPS turn on anyway (customer can hear the fan when he turn off the Kip), it is possible that you may not have display even if the IPS is on, that is causing by few bad capacitors. You can replace them at low cost.
If the IPS doesn't start manually, your problem is the power supply of IPS, you can find some on ebay. But be carefull, they are rare. Most of PC stores cannot have them.
Also, I've heard that someone had to replace the relay PCB, the one who supply the signal to turn on the IPS. On my side, it never happen.
Oh, and the "no analog signal....." is normal, this is shown even if your IPS work fine. This line come directly from the display itself, just like a tv when there is no signal. |
