|
|
Hello
Kip 2100 / 2200 Scanner
On the old glass, there are 2 strips of tape that travel lengthwise down the sides. Can anyone tell me what these strips do?
We had some glass made and it seems to work without the tape.
Thanks

I broke the scan glass on my 2021 and just went to a glass shop and had a peice cut the same size. The original was beveled but that wasn't an option for the glass shop so I just had them sand the edges so they would be frosted. I then used clear shipping tape to act as a ramp to get around the bevel and the machine seems quite happy.
So, while there may be very faint ghosts (haven't seen any yet though) - I suspect it won't affect our prints at all. Much like your experience..

FYI
I have had glass cut for our scanners for years. Some say you need the tape but I can say we have been successful without it. Even on our high end color scan units. |
