We are having trouble with the KIP 3000 printing blotchy copies and now it is scanning them in as if the plans had been originally printed with ink blots all over the page. However, it does not initially show this. It will show a clean example then, when trying to work with the TIFF files, it will eventually start showing something that looks like someone threw ink on the page.
This did not happen until after we had scanned it in. The copy that was scanned is clean, it initially scanned in clean, and then turned into this. _________________ Everything is spinning |

So, when you scan a perfect original, the scanned image looks perfect but after you guys try to manipulate the file, the lines and smudges show up? What exactly are you trying to do when you are "trying to work with the TIFF files"? I've never seen that happen before. Have you tried to scan the original as a pdf and view it in adobe, just to see how the file looks like? I would think that if it were a true scanner issue, wouldn't all the lines be vertical? How would the scanned image create the angled line to the left side of the top image on your print or any horizontal lines like the one on the right side between the two images? |

This is typical when the scanner hasn't been calibrated in a while. Or sometimes I can manipulate the scans by turning auto exposure off and change the threshold setting. |
