I have a customer who is moving to a new office. His current building has no elevator, and the staircase is very narrow. We had problems moving the 3000 in when he first got it - it had to be turned up on its end and put on a stair-climber even in it's pre-installed condition.

Aside from the obvious - control panel, developing unit - is there anything else that needs to be removed to prevent damage?

Make sure you lock down the LED head, tape the paper drawer and fuser door shut. I'm not sure what else if you're already taking the dev. unit and control panel off. I would take the arm off, so that it doesn't get in the way.

Remove the 5 & 24 volt board. We just moved one that had to be turned on end, even hired a moving crew to do it. Board was toast after we finished.

I would remove myself from the stairway when the printer is going up......I would also pull the transfer unit.
