I have a 3000 with a touch screen that is acting up. When I reboot the machine, on the windows desktop before the UI starts, I can see the cursor is dragged all the way to the bottom of the screen. If I touch the screen, it momentarily appears where I touched, but then zips back to the bottom, as if it thinks the screen is being touched there. Running the calibration is pointless, because it doesn't respond when I touch the calibration points. Can this be anything other than a failed touch screen?

We had the same problem on a new 7100. We removed the panel assy and opened it up. There were small flaws or bumps in the front plastic cover/bezel from the original factory mold that were actually touching the screen at the very bottom. We just smoothed them out with sandpaper.
