Having issues with Request printing PDF's. It leaves blank areas on the print, even though the PDF looks fine visually, and it will print if sent through the windows driver to the printer. This is a new KIP 7100.
I also downloaded the newest version of Requester and it wont function at all on my Win7 64 bit machine, the only version I can get to work is 7.1.0.
I get an exception error and it locks up and crashes, I've tried to install this on two different machines, tried running it in compatibility mode to no avail. We had this same issue on our KIP3000, so it is something with Request.
Anyone else having issues?
Thanks,
Andy |

Just the basics:
With Win 7 you need to be an administrator
Run install as admin
After the driver and Request are installed go in and check everything under security
You must have write permission on the Request folder
I don't know how long you've been dealing with this, keep in mind that there are numerous programs that people use to save PDF's; some work better than others
Can you print directly thru Acrobat? _________________ Regards,

How does that go? Some they will and some they won't, some they do and some they don't?
That describes PDF printing these days. We now send almost all PDF's out of Acrobat to our printers. The main exception are those that we have scanned in-house. |

You have the option of converting the offending PDF to TIF with request and send that to the printer. _________________ Regards,

And that will not always work all the time, we even get some PDF's at times that we use a program called PDF Tools to make a complete new PDF. |

I think it works pretty good. As I said we will use it create a new PDF when all other conversions and such fail. It is called PDF X-Changer - Tracker Software product. |

Ahhh yes, blank or black areas on pdf's......
One thing we use to fix this is to go to the Advanced tab in the Adobe driver and check the "print as image" button. Seams to work most of the time. |
