| I have a customer that had an E-09 on thier KIP1900. I went there and checked all the connectors/ connections. Also, did a PM on the printer. After that, I powered up the printer and made many copies and turned the printer on/off numerous times without the error or any errors at all. Figured I was done. Next morning, customer calls and am having the same E-09 error. I am not familiar enough with this machine, so I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction. Thanks. |

The E-09 says the exposure lamp is too dark. Sometimes you can pull them "the exposure lamp" out and clean it with windex to brighten it up a little. I also pull the platic "glass" above it and clean both sides of it. While the "glass" is out, clean the piece that looks like a printhead "kinda." I just wipe it with a dry cloth because it can get dirty and block the light going through it.
If none of this helps you might want to look at replacing the lamp or the EXP sensor pcb.
Does this machine have a lot of usage or is it in a dirty environment? |

Thanks, I will try that. The machine only has about 25K SF since I installed it over 5 years ago and the printer is in a front office environment, so I don't think it would be considered a dirty environment.
Also, can you give me a part number for the EXP Sensor PCB? Thanks. |
