Everything is being double printed on prints coming out of the fuser unit. I stop it in mid print and before the fuser, the print is perfect. Looks like the image is not fusing all on the paper and is getting onto the fuser roller as the paper goes through the fuser rollers. Weird thing is that the toner is fused on the paper, you cannot rub it off. If I stop the paper in mid-print, you can see where the image is on the paper and mirrored on the fuser roller. I tried adjusting speed, pressure between pressure roller and fuser roller to no avail. This machine had the same issue 2 months ago and I replaced the fuser and pressure roller, bushings and bearings but they've only put about 4500 sf on it. One thing I noticed is that the room that the machine is in is very hot. I'd like to hear suggestions before I decide to swap out the fuser or pressure rollers again. Thanks. |

Did you put the screws for the fuser pressure back in the correct holes? They should be in the bottom two holes with the top hole open.
Did you use a recoat fuser roller or OEM?
You might want to check the collars on the presure roller I have seen these wear and the pressure roller falls out of the holding brackets. |

Yeah, I'm sure I put the screws in the bottom 2 holes. I used an OEM fuser roller when I replaced it in Feb. and I did replace the bushings and bearings also. The bearings and bushings all look good and both rollers are turning simultaneously. Thanks. I just found some used rollers and will try to swap them out just for kicks to see if it changes anything. I will keep you posted. |

I might also check the temp. Make sure thermos are touching the roller and heat lamps are coming on. Might be the fuser roller but I have only had one bad OEM roller in 20 years. |

There's heat, so the lamps are working. I will be have to double check on the thermostats. I raised and lowered the fuser temp and it didn't change anything. |

I like to physically check the temperature with an infared temperature sensor. This will tell you exactlly what the operating temp really is.
I also like to replace the thermistors and thermostat when I replace the roller. They tend to get old and worn. |

How old is your fuser roller? Replacing the fuser roller always fixed this problem for me. |

Problem solved...I think that the room being so warm had alot to do with it. I went back and as soon as I entered the room, I was sweating, it was that warm. Ran some prints, double image. I adjusted the fuser temp up and down with no change. So I put in a new non-oem fuser roller. I let it warm up and run prints and same double image issue. I take the fuser unit out and adjust the pressure between fuser and pressure roller. Then reinstall it, same issue. During this time, I run outside to put more coin in the parking meter and it starts thunderstorming and marble-size hail. By the time I get back to the printer, the room is noticabley cooler. The fuser temp is set to 180 (for testing purposes) with no change. I drop the temp to 165 and no more double-imaging. My guess is that the cooling of the room and the fuser made a big difference. I told the customer to get a fan to circulate and cool the room. |
