|
|
Hello all
does anyone know why i am unable to select and print a file that has a tiff file imbeded in it.
the request program will simply not allow me to click / check mark this file. i get no errors or anything.
i have tried in 3 different versions of autocad and always get the same thing. requester will not let me select any plot file with a tiff imbeded.
before we switched to the 6000 we had a 2000 that would run them just fine.
We have all the latest Kip software for requester scanner etc.
any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure your PC3 driver is setup correctly. Open it up and look at the General tab. Driver info should say "Non-System Driver...Kip"
If it says it's a windows system driver then you could be making bad plt file.
If that's not it... Try enabling/disabling the Raster Photo Mode in your Customer Properties (PC3) |

Make sure that the embeded tiff is a group 4, and be certian it is not compressed with LZW compression.
Request will not print an image file that is compressed with LZW. When autocad embeds an image into a plot file, it leaves the image file data as is. Since the tif is a raster image already there is no reason to re-rasterize it.
Except LZW is copyrighted, and Kip, understandably, did not want to pay through the nose for a licence.
I think you can de-select it somewhere in autocad, but I don't remember where. If nessasary, open it in photoshop and "save-as" a tif then make sure the "use LZW compresion" box is not ticked.
If you dont have photoshop try googleing for irfanview. Its free and will convert image files to what ever you want, although it seems to lose a little quality.
And never use a Microsoft product of any sort to save or modify an image file you want to print to request, they all use LZW by default.

Thanks to Everyone. Really appreciate all the suggestions.
Seems if you download the PP5_SR3 [06.14.2004] from kip america
and install on top of your latest version of power print. The problem is solved. Everything is printing great on all stations with power print request.
Many thanks again.
