Anyone know the real specs on the memory for the 2000 series scanner?
I know it is PC100 Dimm 168 pin non parity non buffered. Anyone know if it is ECC or CL2 or CL3? I want to make sure I get the right one. Anyone have a good source for cheap memory?
Thanks |

Not sure you can use "Good" and "Cheap" in the same sentence, but I've used 168pin KINGSTON memory and it works fine. _________________ Everytime something is made idiot proof... the world creates a better idiot! |

Standard non ecc SD-RAM. You can use 133mhz as long as you have the latest firmware on it. |

I am new here; this is my 1st post. I just acquired a used 2050 scanner (no print, no copy, 'hosted' by a WinXP PC w/ SCSI card). I downloaded & applied software upgrade (6.5.1), but am too cheap to spend $12 on-line for a Service Manual (why can I get free manuals for the 2000, but not the 2050?). I would appreciate friendly advice.
1) How can I find out how much RAM is in it?
2) Which cover is the RAM under?
3) How can I verify which firmware it now has?
4) Where can I find newer firmware?
I apologize in advance if these questions can be answered by a closer look at the 2000 manuals, but a quick skim didn't turn up anything obvious. Thanks. |

1)Press the MENU button on the top of the scanner, then COMMAND, then
INFORMATION it will tell you the memory amount and the
firmware version
2)The RAM is located under the feed table. About 20 or so screws to
remove
3)See 1st answer
4)KIP web site in the Dealer area. I think the most current is ver. 3.10
or Batman to get a service manual and firmware possibly e-mailed to you by some fine people on this web site read the link below
